Police Seize 54 Pounds of Marijuana From Two Milford Smoke Shops; Bronx Man Arrested
Milford police seized approximately 54 pounds of marijuana and a significant quantity of illegal THC and kratom products from two Boston Post Road smoke shops following a joint operation with the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection. A 20-year-old Bronx man was arrested and charged with operating a drug factory.
Milford police seized approximately 54 pounds of marijuana from two Boston Post Road smoke shops last week following complaints that the businesses were selling THC products to minors.
The April 14 operation, conducted in partnership with the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection, targeted Puffoo City at 1250 Boston Post Road and Puff Green Smoke at 284 Boston Post Road.
Officers discovered and seized illegal THC products, unregulated THC products, kratom, and roughly 24 kilograms — about 54 pounds — of marijuana, according to a police press release.
Bronx Man Charged With Operating Drug Factory
Ahmed Nasar Aliyahry, 20, of the Bronx, New York, was arrested at the scene and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a drug factory, possession of more than five ounces of marijuana, and possession with intent to sell more than one kilogram of marijuana.
Aliyahry is scheduled to appear in court on May 12 at Milford Superior Court, located at 14 West River Street.
The investigation remains open and additional charges may be pending, police said. The department is continuing to work with state agencies on further enforcement.

Smoke Detectors Alert Sleeping Resident in Beach Avenue Fire
A Beach Avenue resident escaped an early-morning house fire unharmed after working smoke detectors woke him in time to get out, the Milford Fire Department said. Crews responded just after 4:00 a.m. to find heavy fire on the building's second floor and struck a second alarm. No injuries were reported.
