Target Hit by Five Shoplifting Incidents Over Thanksgiving Weekend
One suspect found with meth and professional shoplifting tools; another had outstanding warrants
MILFORD — The Target store on Boston Post Road was the scene of five separate shoplifting incidents over the Thanksgiving weekend, according to the Milford Police Department's latest press release.
The arrests, which took place between November 28 and November 30, resulted in eight total individuals being taken into custody on charges ranging from larceny to drug possession to driving under the influence.
Thanksgiving Day Shoplifting Duo
The holiday weekend began with a pair of alleged shoplifters working together at Target on the morning of November 28.
William Rosado, 48, of West Haven, and Kyra Leedberg, 32, of Milford, were arrested after police say they stole approximately $392 worth of merchandise from the store. Both face charges of sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit larceny.
During processing, officers discovered Leedberg had two active warrants for failure to appear in court. She was held on $5,000 bond, while Rosado was released on a promise to appear.
Shoplifter Found with Meth, Professional Tools
Later that same day, officers returned to Target for a second shoplifting call that yielded more serious charges.
Michael Derrico, 30, of Hamden, was arrested after allegedly stealing $80 worth of merchandise. During the investigation, police say they found Derrico in possession of a "shoplifting device" — a term typically referring to tools used to remove security tags — along with three containers of crystal methamphetamine.
Derrico also had an active arrest warrant out of West Haven and was turned over to West Haven Police after processing in Milford.
Milford Man Arrested on $23,500 Bond
On November 29, Milford Police took Frank Pepe, 30, into custody on two active arrest warrants stemming from an August incident in which he allegedly damaged a vehicle and made threatening statements to another person. Pepe, of Janet Street, also had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court.
He was held on $23,500 bond.
Additional Shoplifting Arrests
Three more shoplifting arrests occurred at Target over the weekend:
Christopher Perez, 18, of West Haven, was arrested the night of November 29 after allegedly stealing approximately $80 worth of merchandise.
Jennifer Grenfell, 47, was arrested November 30 for allegedly stealing $20.37 worth of items, while Jennifer Mahoney, 40, of Seymour, was taken into custody later that day for allegedly stealing $9.99 in merchandise.
All three were released on promises to appear in court.
Barnes & Noble Theft
The Boston Post Road retail corridor saw one additional shoplifting arrest outside of Target. Jamie Antonelli, 46, who police listed as homeless, was arrested at Barnes & Noble on November 30 after allegedly stealing $170.97 worth of merchandise. He was held on $500 bond.
DUI Arrest in Downtown Milford
In an unrelated incident, Robert Carre, 53, of Orange, was arrested early Saturday morning after police received a report of a suspicious vehicle stopped at a stop sign on Broadway for an extended period of time.
Officers made contact with Carre and determined he was operating under the influence of alcohol. He was held on $500 bond.
All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Court dates for the arrests range from late December 2025 through early 2026.
